Our Team

JENNIFER WELLS
Executive Director

Jennifer is an outdoor recreational enthusiast and professional who loves sharing her passion with others. Her passion for the environment and thirst for adventure motivated her to change careers at the age of 35 and start her own recreation-based business. Jennifer has a B.A. in Communication Studies and an M.S. in Recreation with a focus in Outdoor and Environmental Education.

Jennifer is an American Canoe Association instructor and instructor trainer. Because she recognizes the need to provide safe learning environments for her customers, she believes in spreading best practices in paddlesports through her employee development programs. On top of her American Canoe Association Instructor certifications, Wilderness First Responder, she is a licensed trainer for CPR and First Aid through the American Red Cross.

In the off-season you can find Jennifer teaching our future recreation and outdoor adventure professionals at Ithaca College as an assistant professor in the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department where she enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge and professional experience.

Although, Paddle-N-More and Finger Lakes Adventure Camp are her passion, Jennifer also teaches and leads outdoor excursions and adventures, such as backpacking, mountain biking, and backcountry travel. She loves to be outdoors and if the wind conditions are not right for paddling, you’ll often see her kiteboarding just off of the Myers Park location.

SYDNEY BISHOP
Camp Director

Sydney has been attracted to water/ water sports as well as youth education her entire life. Since her first swim lesson at age 2, she was hooked on all things water related. This led to participating on the varsity swim team from middle school through college as well as lifeguarding and teaching others how to perfect their skills. In addition to camp, Sydney has been a swimming instructor at the Ellis Hollow Community Pool in Ithaca for the past 6 years, and teaches private lessons in her free time.

As an outdoor enthusiast, you may find her hiking local trails, biking or riding horses, skiing down mountains and even coaching others to swim across Cayuga Lake. In her spare time she also enjoys caring for animals, baking and reading a good book by the beach. Feel free to ask her about her most recent adventure: a +6 month road trip across the continental US!

Sydney recently completed her Bachelor’s degree at SUNY Cortland, where she majored in Early Childhood/ Childhood Education with a concentration in the Arts. She adores working with children and is excited to continue combining her two loves, of teaching and the water, while working at Finger Lakes Adventure Camp!

KIARA TORNUSCIOLO
Assistant Camp Director

Kiara has been involved in watersports since age 7 through Paddle-n-More. She was one of the first campers when the watersports program started over 10 years ago. Through the years, Kiara has worked her way up the ladder to become the assistant camp director for FLX Adventure Camp at Paddle-N-More. She has been a junior camper, camper, counselor in training participant, and senior counselor. Kiara brings a lot of wonderful assets to all watersports programs.

Kiara loves Cayuga Lake and spends every moment she can get on the water. She is currently attending Nazareth College where she is majoring in nursing with a minor in psychology and has a goal to work in pediatric oncology. She is also a part of Nazareth’s growing track team as a pole vaulter and jumper.

Though she loves all watersports her favorites are paddle boarding, sailing, and wake surfing. She is very excited to get back on the water this year and continue learning more about watersports while teaching others.

When away from camp Kiara enjoys rock climbing and environmental conservation. You can often find her doing SUP yoga during sunrise or enjoying the stars at night. She loves all parts of the outdoors and is always willing to try something new.
