Kiara’s journey with FLX Adventure Camp and Paddle-N-More is nothing short of extraordinary. Starting as one of our very first campers at the age of 7, Kiara has been a part of our watersports family for 14 years, growing through every role imaginable—junior camper, camper, CIT, senior counselor, and assistant camp director. Now, as Camp Director, Kiara embodies the transformative and adventurous spirit that defines our camp.

Kiara is all about lake life. Her love for Cayuga Lake and the outdoors shines through everything she does. From paddleboarding, sailing, and wake surfing to enjoying sunrise SUP yoga or stargazing along the shoreline, she embraces the magic of the water and inspires others to do the same.

Currently a junior at Nazareth College, Kiara is pursuing a nursing degree with a minor in psychology and dreams of making a difference in pediatric oncology. She’s also a pole vaulter and jumper for Nazareth’s track team, showcasing her adventurous spirit both on land and in the water.

When she’s not leading at camp or excelling in academics and athletics, Kiara enjoys rock climbing and dedicating her time to environmental conservation. Her passion for protecting nature reflects her deep connection to the outdoors, which she brings to every camper experience.

As she returns as Camp Director for Summer 2025, Kiara is excited to continue sharing her knowledge and helping both counselors and campers continue to grow through adventure and watersports on Cayuga Lake. Her enthusiasm, experience, and love for watersports make her a shining example of how FLX Adventure Camp transforms youth into confident, capable leaders.

Our Rising Stars of Summer

Our Counselors in Training (CITs) are the Rising Stars of Summer, bringing their energy, experience, and dedication to support our campers. As former campers themselves, they draw on their firsthand knowledge to help create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for everyone at FLX Adventure Camp.

CITs go through a rigorous training program, developing leadership skills, mastering watersports facilitation, and learning the essentials of youth development. Their commitment to growth and learning prepares them to take on greater responsibilities and often leads them to become our future Magic Makers of Summer—our counselors!

JENNIFER WELLS
Founder & Executive Director

Jennifer brings over 20 years of expertise in outdoor recreation, education, and youth development to her role as the founder of FLX Adventure Camp and Paddle-N-More. A USCG-licensed captain, American Canoe Association Instructor Trainer, and American Red Cross Instructor, Jennifer is a seasoned professional dedicated to delivering high-quality watersports education while fostering personal growth and confidence in participants.

As a professor and mentor to future professionals within the outdoor recreation industry, Jennifer has spent years preparing the next generation of leaders. She takes immense pride in teaching and inspiring the younger generation, guiding them as they grow into skilled and confident professionals. Her passion for education extends to her camp team, where she loves watching her leaders and the magic makers of summer thrive, build skills, and create unforgettable experiences for campers.

Jennifer’s vision for FLX Adventure Camp and Paddle-N-More is rooted in her belief in the transformative power of watersports. Through her leadership, she has created an environment where youth, staff, and customers alike can explore the joys of Lake Life, build resilience, and embrace adventure.

When not leading her team or working on the water, Jennifer is an avid outdoor enthusiast, always seeking new ways to connect with nature and foster growth through watersports. Her dedication to mentoring, education, and adventure has left a lasting impact on both the industry and the countless individuals she has inspired along the way.
