Our Team

Did you now that FLX Adventure Camp is the sister organization of Paddle-N-More? Together, the two organizations are a mix of educational professionals who have been working in youth development, education, and outdoor recreation for over 20 years. We strive for excellence in working with children through fun watersports opportunities. Through FLX Adventure Camp at Paddle-N-More, we not only want to provide a fun summer program environment, we strive to provide educational opportunities that build courage and self-confidence in watersports.

Between our summer camp programs and rental shops at Paddle-N-More, we now have a team of 45+ employees who love sharing watersports with others through all our youth programs, guided trips, lessons, and rentals.

Meet some of the team

JENNIFER WELLS
Executive Director

Jennifer is an outdoor recreation enthusiast and professional who loves sharing her passion with others. Her passion for the environment and thirst for adventure motivated her to change careers at the age of 35 and start her own recreation-based business, Paddle-N-More, along with FLX Adventure Camp. Jennifer has a B.A. in Communication Studies and an M.S. in Recreation with a focus in Outdoor and Environmental Education. You will often find Jennifer managing and teaching our more advanced programs, including our Boardsports program through FLX Adventure Camp.

In the off-season you can find Jennifer teaching our future recreation and outdoor adventure professionals. Jennifer has been teaching at Ithaca College as an assistant professor in the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department for over 10 years. She has also been teaching part-time with the SUNY Cortland Recreation, Parks and Leisure Studies Department. for 15 years. She enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge and professional experience with our future outdoor recreation professionals. Her 15 years of teaching experience in leadership training, human resource management, program planning, youth development, camp and outdoor program administration, and other professional development curriculum in the outdoor recreation industry only enhances the types of programs offered through FLX Adventure Camp and Paddle-N-More.

Jennifer is a certified American Canoe Association instructor trainer, a wilderness first responder, and a licensed trainer for CPR/First aid and wilderness first aid. Jennifer also recently completed her captain’s license exam and is looking forward to building the boardsports programs offered through our newly formed FLX Wake School. Because Jennifer recognizes the need to provide a safe learning environment for participants, she believes in teaching best practices in watersports and outdoor program leadership through her employee development programs both at Paddle-N-More and FLX Adventure Camp. Jennifer hires 45+ employees seasonally who are not only seasonal staff, but many are watersports specialists prepared to create a spectacular experience on and off the water.

KIARA TORNUSCIOLO
Assistant Camp Director

Kiara has been involved in watersports since age 7 through Paddle-n-More. She was one of the first campers when the watersports program started over 12 years ago. Through the years, Kiara has worked her way up the ladder to become the assistant camp director for FLX Adventure Camp at Paddle-N-More. She has been a junior camper, camper, counselor in training participant, and senior counselor. Kiara brings a lot of wonderful assets to all watersports programs.

Kiara loves Cayuga Lake and spends every moment she can getting on the water. She is currently attending Nazareth College where she is majoring in nursing with a minor in psychology and has a goal to work in pediatric oncology. She is also a part of Nazareth’s growing track team as a pole vaulter and jumper.

Though she loves all watersports her favorites are paddle boarding, sailing, and wake surfing. She is very excited to get back on the water this year and continue learning more about watersports while teaching others.

When away from camp Kiara enjoys rock climbing and environmental conservation. You can often find her doing SUP yoga during sunrise or enjoying the stars at night. She loves all parts of the outdoors and is always willing to try something new.
